We return to Chopwell Woods for our festive Christmas Event — the perfect way for friends & family to get together for one last run before the real celebrations begin.

🌲 Chopwell Woods

Chopwell Wood was the home of our very first event in 2019 and is now the perfect venue for our ever-popular Christmas Trail Runs. Managed by Forestry England, this 360-hectare mixed woodland is a hidden gem on the fringe of Gateshead.

📏 Event Distances

• Family 1 Mile (ages 3–11, adult runs FREE with child)
• 4 Mile (ages 11+)
• 8 Mile (ages 16+)

🐾 Cani-cross

This event is Canicross friendly, with one controlled dog per runner allowed.

🕖 Start Times

• Family 1 Mile – 9:30am
• 4 Mile – 10:00am
• 8 Mile – 10:20am

⏱️ Timing

There will be Live Chip-Timing provided by Timing Up North.

🎖️ The Finish

All finishers of the 4 & 8 Mile Runs receive:

• Medal
• Event Merchandise
• Mince pies, chocolates & drink

Family Mile finishers receive:

• Medal
• Drink
• Selection box

There is free parking on site, but spaces are VERY limited. Please walk to the event or car share where possible.
