WINDERMERE MARATHON 2025

Entries are now open for the WINDERMERE MARATHON 2025 which our friends The Great Run Company inherited from The Brathay Trust, who organised the race for many years. Wild Deer Events will be working with The Great Run Company in 2025 to help deliver the course element of this iconic Marathon Event.

Join us in June to take on one of the most scenic road marathons in the UK, showcasing the natural beauty of the lakes. The stunning Windermere Marathon route takes in one anticlockwise circuit of Lake Windermere, passing Hawkshead, Newby Bridge and Bowness-on-Windermere. Over half of the 26.2-mile Windermere Marathon route will be run on partially traffic-free roads, or roads with a dedicated running lane. The course is hilly in parts with an elevation of approximately +600M. This is the perfect road marathon for runners looking for a challenge and those who want to to enjoy the scenic landscapes that the Lake District offers.

The beautiful course will broadly remain the same for 2025 with new start and finish locations providing new and returning runners an opportunity to experience all that the Lake District has to offer.
