HADRIANS WALL HALF MARATHON 2024 - ENTRIES CLOSED

We are delighted to bring you The Hadrians Wall Half Marathon which will be in its 4th year in 2024! This is a testing trail event with some outstanding scenery.

Event Location

Start and Registration - Housesteads Roman Fort, Hadrians Wall Hexham NE47 6NN

Finish – Tyne Green Country Park, Hexham, NE46 3HR

Event Distance

Half Marathon - 13.1 miles

This event can be completed by walkers and runners.

This Iconic run starts at the World Heritage site of Housesteads Roman Fort on the Military Road and follows the Hadrian’s wall trail path for 6 miles. Runners will then head down to Newbrough, through woodland to the Tyne Riverside trail path which heads back to Hexham and the finish will be at Tyne Green Country Park. The last 5 miles are flat.

Shuttle Bus

For this A-B event runners will need to book the shuttle bus to the start or get dropped off.

Bag Drop

There will be a bag drop at registration and your bag will be transported to the finish.

Cani-cross

This event is Canicross friendly and we allow one controlled dog per runner.

Start Times

There will be a staggered start from approximately 8.30am until 11.30am. Participants will be set off in group of 75-100 due to the historic nature of the site and to avoid congestion on the wall. Start times are allocated based on your estimated finishing time and walkers and slower runners will start first.

If you would like to run/walk with a friend, please put the same estimated finishing time in when you enter.

The Finish

All Finishers will be rewarded with an Event T-Shirt, a Medal, snack and a Beer or soft drink.

ENTRIES FROM 2ND OCTOBER WILL GET WILD DEER MERCHANDISE INSTEAD OF AN EVENT T-SHIRT!

Parking

There is public car parking available at Tyne Green Country Park and surrounding areas in Hexham. Please car share where possible.
